Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay said Aaron Donald's decision on whether to come out of retirement carries no hard deadline, after the three-time Defensive Player of the Year recently worked out with the team.

"We don't want to have any sort of unnecessary pressure on him if there's some unforeseen circumstances," McVay said. "He's put himself in a position to be able to say yes or no." McVay added, "I feel great about our football team as it currently stands, and I know he'll add value if he decides to come."

While McVay stopped short of naming a firm deadline, the Aug. 30 roster cutdown to 53 players looms as a natural marker. McVay said he hopes for a decision "sooner than later," though Donald himself has not publicly commented on his plans.
