Keenan Allen agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $8.32 million with the Indianapolis Colts, a source told ESPN, reuniting the veteran receiver with head coach Shane Steichen, his former offensive coordinator with the Chargers.
How did he perform last season?
Allen, 34, caught 81 passes for 777 yards and four touchdowns on 122 targets for the Chargers in 2025, leading the team in receiving. He led the NFL in third-down receptions (34) and receiving first downs (29), though his 9.6 yards per catch was a career low.
Why did the Colts make this move?
Indianapolis has a thin receiving corps after trading Michael Pittman Jr., with top receiver Alec Pierce also out following ankle surgery. Allen is expected to work the short and intermediate routes while Pierce and Josh Downs handle more of the downfield work once healthy.
What's his career background?
A third-round pick out of Cal in 2013, Allen ranks 13th all-time with 1,055 career receptions, along with 12,051 receiving yards and 70 touchdowns across a six-time Pro Bowl career.
