Dak Prescott Passes Tony Romo for the Cowboys' Career Touchdown Pass Record
Prescott's fourth touchdown pass in a 37-20 win over Washington, a 24-yarder to CeeDee Lamb, was the 249th of his career. He now holds every major Dallas passing record.
Dak Prescott threw four touchdown passes in Sunday's 37-20 win over the Washington Commanders, and the last of them made him the Dallas Cowboys' career leader. His 24-yard pass to CeeDee Lamb in the fourth quarter was No. 249, one more than Tony Romo.
How did he get there?
Prescott went 26 of 31 for 279 yards. He hit Lamb from 3 yards on the opening drive, found Jake Ferguson from 10 and then from 12 to tie Romo, and broke the record with the throw to Lamb. "It wasn't a great ball," he said, recalling that his thought was, "CeeDee, please just get this over with." It was his 39th touchdown pass to Lamb, the most to any teammate, and his fifth four-touchdown game against Washington.
What does he own now?
Prescott, 33, a fourth-round pick in 2016 now in his 11th season, already led the franchise in passing yards, completions, attempts, passer rating and completion percentage. Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Prescott gave "an amazing speech to his teammates" afterward and called it a "very emotional scene." He is under contract through 2028.
