Dallas Cowboys quarterback Joe Milton III threw two touchdown passes in the first half of Saturday's 34-13 win over Arizona, his second straight strong preseason outing as he competes with Sam Howell for the backup job behind Dak Prescott.
How did he perform?
Milton went 9 of 13 for 176 yards with touchdown passes of 53 yards to Jonathan Mingo and a 70-yard completion to Camden Brown that set up his own 1-yard rushing touchdown on the next play.
Where does the competition stand?
Milton is entering his third season and has now strung together two solid preseason performances. Offensive coordinator Klayton Schottenheimer said the QB2 battle with Howell is "long from over," indicating no decision has been finalized despite Milton's showing.
