Eagles' Ja'Quinden Jackson Taken to Hospital After Kickoff Collision
The running back was stretchered off after his head collided with a teammate's leg on Saturday's opening kickoff, but the team said he has strength and movement in all extremities and a CT scan came back negative.
Philadelphia Eagles running back Ja'Quinden Jackson was taken to a hospital by ambulance after being injured on the opening kickoff of Saturday's preseason game against New England, though the team said he has strength and movement in all extremities.
What happened on the play?
Jackson's head collided with a teammate's leg while attempting a tackle on the kickoff coverage unit. He stayed down on the field for several minutes before being placed on a backboard and stretchered into an ambulance as teammates looked on. "He has strength and movement in all extremities and is being taken to a local hospital for further evaluation," the team said.
What's his condition now?
A CT scan came back negative. His agent, Damien Butler, said Jackson is "awake and alert" and thanked the Eagles' medical staff and first responders for their "swift actions and exceptional care." No official diagnosis or return timeline has been announced.
What's his background?
Jackson, 24, signed with the Eagles on Aug. 10 after spending the 2025 season on the Jacksonville Jaguars' practice squad.
