Cardinals Receiver Jalen Brooks Out for the Season After Playing Through a Wrist Injury
Brooks hurt the wrist in the first quarter, told no one and kept playing; it needed emergency surgery. He had taken over the X receiver role after the Marvin Harrison Jr. trade.
Arizona Cardinals receiver Jalen Brooks will miss the rest of the season with a wrist injury that required emergency surgery, he said on social media Monday. Coach Mike LaFleur said Brooks hurt it in the first quarter of a game, did not tell anyone and kept playing.
What do the Cardinals lose?
Their replacement for Marvin Harrison Jr. Brooks took over the X receiver role after the Oct. 11 trade and had five catches for 81 yards since. LaFleur called him "a tough dude" and said the job will be filled by committee, with rookie Reggie Virgil, Kendrick Bourne and Simi Fehoko. Running back Jeremiyah Love is expected to practice Wednesday after missing two games with an ankle injury. Arizona is 2-5 and visits Dallas on Sunday.
