Maxx Crosby Shut Down Rams Trade Talks After Ravens Deal Collapsed, Report Says
Los Angeles was the most aggressive suitor once Baltimore backed out over Crosby's knee, per NFL Network, but Crosby told interested teams and the Raiders he wanted to stay in Las Vegas.
The Los Angeles Rams pushed hardest to trade for Maxx Crosby after Baltimore's deal for the Raiders edge rusher fell through in March, but Crosby ended the talks by telling interested teams and Las Vegas that he wanted to remain a Raider, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Sunday.
How did the Ravens deal fall apart?
Baltimore had agreed to send two first-round picks to Las Vegas but backed out after Crosby failed the physical over his surgically repaired knee. The Rams, who later traded for Myles Garrett, were described as the strongest club pushing for a deal in the aftermath, with the Eagles, Cowboys and 49ers also monitoring. Crosby's public response at the time: "I'm a Raider. I'm back. Run that s---."
How is the knee now?
Crosby had meniscus surgery and sat out the preseason, but sources told NFL Network he has had no issues and is in excellent health heading into Sunday's opener against Miami. No extension details were reported.
