Raiders' QB Race Continues Despite Mendoza's Pick-Six

Las Vegas Raiders coach Klint Kubiak declined to name a starting quarterback after rookie Fernando Mendoza threw a pick-six in Thursday's 22-20 preseason win over Houston, saying, "We got another week. I don't want anyone to be comfortable in their job."
How did Mendoza look?
Mendoza started and played the entire first half, going 8 of 15 for 86 yards. His pick-six came on the opening drive, intercepted and returned 80 yards for a touchdown. "I probably should have checked it down to the flat," Mendoza said afterward.
Where does that leave Kirk Cousins?
Cousins was held out of Thursday's game entirely and has played just one drive across Las Vegas's two preseason games so far. Backup Aidan O'Connell played the final two quarters and scored the go-ahead rushing touchdown in the win.
