Seahawks Show Interest in Terrion Arnold After 'Great Tryout'
Coach Mike Macdonald says Seattle is working through the situation around the free-agent cornerback, who faces felony kidnapping and armed robbery charges after his release from Detroit.
Seattle Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said Monday the team has interest in cornerback Terrion Arnold after hosting him for a tryout over the weekend. "It's enough right now that we had him in for a great visit, a great tryout," Macdonald said.
Why is Arnold a free agent?
The Detroit Lions released Arnold in late June, days after he was arrested in Tampa on felony charges tied to a robbery and kidnapping incident from early February. He faces four counts of kidnapping and four counts of armed robbery, carrying a potential life sentence. He's out on $1 million bond, restricted to his Tallahassee residence except for football activities and court dates.
How is Seattle framing the decision?
Macdonald acknowledged the legal situation directly: "It's a situation where there's other things that are surrounding it. We're aware of that. But we're working through the situation right now." No signing has been finalized, and other teams, including Houston, have also shown interest.
What's his football background?
Arnold was a first-round pick in 2024, taken 24th overall out of Alabama by Detroit. Injuries limited him to eight games last season after shoulder surgery, and he has one interception and 18 passes defensed across 24 career games. Seattle's interest comes after the team lost cornerback Riq Woolen in free agency.
