Alex Johnson is a cornerback who started his UCLA career as a walk-on before developing into a Pac-12 interceptions leader by his final season. Since going undrafted in 2024, he has cycled through the Giants, Colts, and Titans before landing with the Los Angeles Rams, where he wears No. 36.

Path to the league

A Carson, California native out of Loyola High School in Los Angeles, Johnson had a scholarship offer from Montana rescinded due to a coaching change and instead walked on at UCLA in 2018, earning a scholarship after his second season. He went undrafted in 2024 and signed with the New York Giants as a free agent.

Career highlights

Johnson's standout moment came in his final UCLA season in 2023, when his five interceptions led the Pac-12 Conference. He finished his college career with 55 tackles and 11 passes defensed across five seasons and earned honorable mention All-Pac-12 as a senior, while also completing an undergraduate degree in political science and a master's degree in coaching and leadership.

Johnson's professional path since 2024 has run through the Giants, Colts, Titans, and now the Rams, primarily on practice squads, and he has not yet appeared in a regular-season NFL game. He remains on the Rams' roster fighting for a chance to make his pro debut.
