Ben Sauls is a placekicker for the Giants who spent five seasons building a reliable resume at Pittsburgh before an unconventional path through Atlanta led him to New York. His left-footed delivery makes him a rarity in the modern NFL, and he made the most of his opportunity once he got it in December 2025.

Sauls, from Tipp City, Ohio, kicked for Pittsburgh from 2020 to 2024, converting 52 of 64 career field goals and 122 of 124 extra points. His standout 2024 season included a school-record-tying 58-yard field goal against California, third-team All-ACC honors, first-team All-America recognition and a Lou Groza Award semifinalist nod.

In 2022, Sauls made all 47 of his extra-point attempts and 20 of 24 field goals, including a game-winning 47-yarder in the Sun Bowl against UCLA. He went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft, signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and was released in preseason cuts before catching on with Atlanta's practice squad.
2025 season recap
The Giants signed Sauls in mid-November 2025, and he made his NFL debut on December 21, becoming the first left-footed kicker to appear in a regular season game since 2018. He finished the season a perfect 8-for-8 on field goals and 7-for-7 on extra points in his limited action, with a long of 45 yards.
