Blake Cashman

Blake Cashman is a Minnesota Vikings linebacker who finished among the NFL's tackle leaders in 2025 despite missing time.

Cashman was a fifth-round pick out of Minnesota in 2019 and bounced through stops with the Jets and Texans before signing with his hometown Vikings in 2024. He emerged as a tackling machine in the middle of Minnesota's defense. A hamstring injury cost him three games in 2025, but he still ranked ninth in the league in tackles.

Path to the league

Cashman starred at the University of Minnesota before the Jets selected him in the fifth round of the 2019 draft. Injuries slowed his early career in New York and later in Houston. He returned home to sign with the Vikings ahead of the 2024 season, where he finally found a featured role.

Career highlights

Cashman has built his game around range and aggressive downhill tackling. Paired with Eric Wilson, he formed one of the more productive inside-linebacker tandems in the league for Minnesota. His 2025 production drew notice even as the spotlight went elsewhere on the Vikings' defense.

2025 season

Per the Vikings and Pro Football Focus, Cashman finished with 144 total tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble and two passes defensed across 13 games. He suffered a hamstring injury in the season opener against Chicago and was placed on injured reserve in September before returning. Despite missing three games, he ranked ninth in the NFL in tackles.
