Boye Mafe

Defensive End · Minnesota

Former Seahawks edge rusher who signed a three-year deal with Cincinnati in 2026 free agency to help replace Trey Hendrickson's production.

Boye Mafe spent his first four seasons in Seattle after the Seahawks drafted him out of Minnesota in 2022. His role shrank during Seattle's deep 2025 run, but the Bengals bet on his upside as a pass rusher in free agency. He arrives in Cincinnati tasked with bolstering an edge group that lost Hendrickson to Baltimore.

Path to the league

Mafe was a second-round pick out of Minnesota in 2022, where he developed into a disruptive Big Ten edge rusher. He posted a strong 2023 in Seattle before his sack production dipped to 6.0 in 2024.

2025 season

Mafe shifted to a rotational role as Seattle made a Super Bowl run, finishing with 2.0 sacks, 31 tackles and a forced fumble while earning a 70.3 PFF grade. He added three pressures and a quarterback hit in Super Bowl LX. In free agency he agreed to a three-year contract reported around $60 million with the Bengals.
