Michigan-bred edge rusher who beat the undrafted odds to stick with the Jets.
Braiden McGregor is a defensive end for the New York Jets who entered the NFL undrafted in 2024 out of Michigan. At 6-foot-6 and roughly 267 pounds, the Port Huron native won a national title with the Wolverines before earning a 53-man roster spot as a rookie. He is now in his third pro season.
Path to the league
McGregor played at Michigan, where he won three straight Big Ten titles and the 2023 national championship. As a senior in 2023 he started all 15 games at defensive end, recording 26 tackles, nine tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. He signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent on April 27, 2024.
Career highlights
Per team reporter Ethan Greenberg, McGregor was one of three undrafted rookies, alongside Leonard Taylor II and Eric Watts, to make the Jets' 53-man roster out of the 2024 class. He has remained an active member of the defensive line rotation since.
