Brandon Johnson has built his NFL career on the margins, bouncing between practice squads and active rosters since going undrafted in 2022. A former Tennessee and UCF wideout, he has flashed real production in limited opportunities, including a walk-off Hail Mary touchdown that still gets replayed.
Path to the league
Johnson spent five seasons at Tennessee before transferring to UCF for a breakout 2021 season, catching 38 passes for 565 yards and a team-leading 11 touchdowns. He went undrafted in 2022 and signed with the Denver Broncos, where he made his NFL debut that November.
Career highlights
Johnson's signature moment came in 2023 with Denver, hauling in a 50-yard Hail Mary touchdown from Russell Wilson as time expired against Washington. He finished that season with 19 catches for 284 yards and four touchdowns before a hamstring injury ended his year early.
