A former USC transfer and Hollywood actor, Ceyair Wright turned a breakout senior year at Nebraska into an undrafted free agent deal with the Bengals.
Ceyair Wright spent three seasons at USC before transferring to Nebraska, where he became a veteran leader of a Cornhuskers pass defense that ranked among the nation's best in 2025. Off the field, Wright is known for his acting career, including a role in "Space Jam: A New Legacy." He signed with Cincinnati as an undrafted free agent after going unselected in the 2026 draft.
Path to the league
A four-star recruit out of Loyola High School in Los Angeles, Wright chose USC over offers from Michigan, Notre Dame and Oregon and played in 23 games for the Trojans from 2021 to 2023. He transferred to Nebraska for the 2024 season and started immediately, going unselected in the 2026 NFL Draft before signing with the Bengals in May 2026.
Career highlights
At USC, Wright totaled 41 tackles, five pass deflections and an interception across three seasons. His move to Nebraska paid off: in 2025 he earned midseason Second Team All-American recognition from The Athletic while leading the Cornhuskers in pass breakups and finishing second on the team in interceptions, helping anchor a nation-leading pass defense.
2025 season recap
Wright's senior season at Nebraska was his best, with six pass breakups, two interceptions, 39 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble, including a blocked field goal and a 27-yard interception return for a touchdown against USC. He capitalized on a strong East-West Shrine Bowl showing before signing with Cincinnati as a priority undrafted free agent.
