Charles Grant left William & Mary as one of the best small-school offensive linemen in the country, earning consensus All-American honors as a senior. He landed in Las Vegas as a third-round pick in 2025 and spent most of his rookie year developing behind the Raiders' veteran tackles.
Path to the league
Grant grew up in Portsmouth, Virginia, and became a starter at left tackle early in his William & Mary career, holding the job for the rest of his college run. He earned first-team All-American honors in 2023 and collected six All-America recognitions in 2024, capping his college career with an invite to the Senior Bowl. The Raiders selected him with the 99th overall pick in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, making him the second FCS player taken that year.
Career highlights
As a senior in 2024, Grant allowed just two sacks across 347 pass-blocking snaps and earned a 91.2 overall grade from Pro Football Focus, the best mark among all FCS offensive tackles that season. His combination of size, at just under 6-foot-5 and 311 pounds, and clean pass-protection tape made him one of the top small-school prospects available in the 2025 draft.
2025 season recap
Grant played a limited role as a rookie behind Las Vegas's veteran offensive line, appearing in nine games with one start, all coming in Week 18 at left tackle, and playing 59 total offensive snaps. He enters his second season looking to push for a bigger role as the Raiders evaluate their tackle depth.
