Devin Bush was a 2019 first-round pick out of Michigan, where he twice earned All-American honors, and began his NFL career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. After bouncing around, he landed in Cleveland and put together the best season of his career in 2025. The Chicago Bears signed him in March 2026.

Path to the league

Bush twice earned All-American honors at Michigan before the Steelers traded up to take him 10th overall in 2019. Injuries and inconsistency clouded his early years in Pittsburgh. He spent time on multiple rosters before finding stability with the Cleveland Browns.

Bush's 2025 season in Cleveland was a career year and the high point of his pro tenure. His range and instincts at the second level drew strong reviews and reestablished him as a starting-caliber linebacker. That play set up a lucrative free-agency move.

2025 season

Bush started all 17 games for the Browns in 2025 and posted career highs across the board: 125 tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles, eight passes defensed and three interceptions. The performance made him one of the more coveted off-ball linebackers in free agency. Chicago signed him to a three-year, $30 million deal on March 11, 2026.
