D.J. Jones is the Denver Broncos' veteran nose tackle and the engine of one of the league's stingiest run defenses.

Path to the league

Jones transferred to Ole Miss for the 2015 season and, per Wikipedia, played 25 games with 15 starts and 6.0 sacks across two years. The San Francisco 49ers selected him in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He spent his early years in San Francisco before signing with Denver in 2022.

Career highlights

Jones has built his value as a low-pad-level nose tackle who holds up against double teams. On March 11, 2025, he signed a three-year, $39 million extension with the Broncos, cementing his role as Denver's No. 1 nose tackle.
