A long-armed interior lineman who transferred from Iowa State to Texas A&M for a big final season before going in round three to Denver.

Tyler Onyedim spent four seasons building a foundation at Iowa State before a productive final year at Texas A&M pushed him into the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft. The son of Nigerian immigrants, Onyedim brings 34-plus-inch arms and a disruptive first step to Denver's interior defensive line.

Path to the league

Onyedim redshirted as a true freshman at Iowa State in 2021, then played four seasons for the Cyclones through 2024, appearing in 40 games with 90 tackles. He transferred to Texas A&M for his final season in 2025 before the Denver Broncos selected him in the third round, 66th overall, in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

Onyedim earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors at Iowa State in 2023 after recording 42 tackles and 6.5 tackles for loss. He helped the Cyclones to an 11-win season, the best in school history, and a win in the 2024 Pop-Tarts Bowl during his senior year in Ames.

2025 season recap

In his lone season at Texas A&M, Onyedim started all 13 games and posted 49 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. The breakout production helped him rise up draft boards and land as Denver's third-round selection in April 2026, and he signed his four-year rookie contract that June.
