A two-star recruit out of the Air Force Academy who finally landed with the team that wanted to draft him all along.

Jordan Jackson is a defensive tackle for the Denver Broncos whose path to the NFL ran through the Air Force Academy and a brief stop with the New Orleans Saints. Denver's front office had eyed him on draft day in 2022 before another team beat them to it, and they eventually got their man anyway.

Path to the league

Jackson played defensive end at Air Force from 2017 to 2021 after being ranked just a two-star recruit coming out of high school. He earned Second-team All-Mountain West honors in his final college season in 2021. The New Orleans Saints selected him in the sixth round, 194th overall, in the 2022 NFL Draft, a pick Denver general manager George Paton later said the Broncos had wanted to make themselves.

Career highlights

Jackson was waived by New Orleans after his rookie training camp and spent 2022 on the Saints' practice squad before signing a futures contract with Denver in January 2023. He spent 2023 on the Broncos' practice squad before finally making the 53-man roster in 2024, becoming a rotational piece on Denver's defensive line.

2025 season recap

Jackson continued as a depth defensive tackle for Denver in 2025, and the Broncos retained him with an exclusive-rights free agent tender in March 2025. Through the 2025 season, his career NFL totals stood at 22 tackles, one sack and one forced fumble, reflecting his role as a rotational run-stopper rather than a featured pass rusher.
