Path to the league
Edwards, born February 25, 2003 in West Bloomfield, Michigan, was a decorated high school prospect who won the Michigan Mr. Football Award and was named Michigan Gatorade Player of the Year after rushing for 1,502 yards and 30 touchdowns as a senior. He went on to a four-year career at Michigan and went undrafted in the 2025 NFL draft, signing with the New York Jets.

2025 season recap
Edwards flashed during the preseason with the Jets but was let go before the regular season began. He signed with the Washington Commanders' practice squad in late August 2025 and stayed there for much of the year before the Dolphins signed him to their active roster off Washington's practice squad late in the season. He did not see meaningful regular-season game action in 2025.
