Donovan McMillon

A hometown-area safety who transferred from Florida to Pittsburgh and became the first Panther in over a decade with consecutive 100-tackle seasons before signing with Cleveland as an undrafted free agent.

Donovan McMillon grew up in the Pittsburgh area, played his final two college seasons at Pitt after starting out at Florida, and turned himself into one of the ACC's most productive tacklers. Undrafted in 2025, he signed with the Browns and made the initial 53-man roster, giving him a chance to compete for playing time in a thin Cleveland safety room.

Path to the league

McMillon starred at Peters Township High School in McMurray, Pennsylvania, before beginning his college career at Florida in 2021. He transferred to Pittsburgh for the 2023 and 2024 seasons, playing close to home. He went undrafted in the 2025 NFL draft, then signed with the Browns and made Cleveland's 53-man roster at final cuts.

Career highlights

McMillon became the first Pitt player to record consecutive 100-tackle seasons since 2008, finishing with 220 combined tackles and an interception across his two years with the Panthers. His 2024 season earned him Second Team All-ACC honors. At his pro day he ran a 4.46-second 40-yard dash and posted a 35-inch vertical jump.

2025 season recap

McMillon made Cleveland's roster as an undrafted rookie safety, joining a Browns secondary that entered camp thin at the position behind starters Grant Delpit and Ronnie Hickman. He worked to earn snaps in a depth and special-teams role during his first NFL season.
