A former Baylor record-setting tight end who overcame a broken leg to reach the NFL.

Drake Dabney is a big-bodied tight end who spent four seasons building a receiving resume at Baylor before finishing his college career at TCU. After an undrafted path through Tennessee, he has found his footing with the Green Bay Packers, catching his first career NFL pass in 2025.

Path to the league

A three-star recruit from Cypress Ranch High School in Texas, Dabney spent 2020-2023 at Baylor, where he set a program tight end record with 33 receptions for 552 yards and 5 touchdowns in 2023, earning honorable mention All-Big 12 honors. He missed most of the 2022 season with a broken fibula. He transferred to TCU for his final year in 2024, then went undrafted in 2025 and signed with the Tennessee Titans.

Career highlights

Across his four healthy seasons at Baylor, Dabney caught 65 passes for 873 yards and 8 touchdowns, developing into one of the program's most productive tight ends before wrapping up his college career at TCU with 19 catches for 193 yards in 2024.

2025 season recap

After being waived by Tennessee, Dabney joined the Green Bay Packers' practice squad on November 4, 2025. He was elevated to the active roster for Weeks 17 and 18, recording his first NFL reception for 3 yards. He signed a reserve/future contract with Green Bay in January 2026.
