A sixth-round Colts pick out of Youngstown State who converted from a Findlay receiver into a blocking-capable NFL tight end.
Drew Ogletree, born Andrew Ogletree, has spent his entire career with the Indianapolis Colts since being drafted in 2022. He arrived in the league by an unusual path, starting as a receiver at a small Division II program before transferring up to Youngstown State and reshaping his game around the tight end position.
Path to the league
Ogletree began his college career at the University of Findlay from 2016 to 2019, catching 54 passes for 785 yards and 10 touchdowns as a receiver. He then transferred to Youngstown State, where he moved to tight end and posted 28 receptions for 282 yards as a senior in 2021. The Colts selected him in the sixth round, 192nd overall, of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Career highlights
Ogletree scored his first NFL touchdown in Week 4 of the 2023 season against the Los Angeles Rams. That year he posted 9 receptions for 147 yards and two touchdowns across 12 games, nine as a starter, establishing himself as a rotational piece in Indianapolis's tight end group.
2025 season recap
Ogletree appeared in 15 games with five starts in 2025, catching 4 passes for 27 yards and a touchdown before a neck injury landed him on injured reserve to end his season. He re-signed with the Colts on a one-year contract in March 2026.
