Drew Shelton stepped into Penn State's starting left tackle job as a true freshman when Olu Fashanu went down injured, and never gave it back. The Downingtown, Pennsylvania native was selected by Dallas in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft after protecting the blindside through Penn State's College Football Playoff run.
Path to the league
A four-star recruit and the third-best player in Pennsylvania coming out of Downingtown West High School, Shelton played alongside future NFL quarterback Will Howard in high school before enrolling at Penn State. He was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round, 112th overall, of the 2026 NFL Draft, becoming the first Penn State offensive tackle drafted since Olu Fashanu went in the first round in 2024.

Shelton made 34 career starts at left tackle for Penn State, starting five games as a true freshman in 2022 after Fashanu's injury. He locked down the job full-time in 2024, starting all 16 games during Penn State's College Football Playoff run.
