Drew Stevens turned a five-star kicking pedigree out of North Augusta, South Carolina into four record-setting years at Iowa. He earned a Senior Bowl invite and one of just three combine invitations given to kickers in the 2026 draft cycle before landing with the Commanders as a rookie free agent.
Path to the league
Stevens was a five-star kicking recruit out of North Augusta High School, ranked among the nation's top specialists by Kohl's Kicking with offers from Clemson, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech before he chose Iowa. He went undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft and signed with the Washington Commanders as an undrafted free agent on May 7, 2026, after drawing interest as one of the draft class's most complete kicking prospects.
Career highlights
Stevens finished his Iowa career with 76 made field goals, the most in program history, and set 12 total school records including a long of 58 yards. He earned second-team All-Big Ten honors in 2022 and third-team All-Big Ten recognition in each of his final three seasons, hitting multiple game-winning kicks along the way, including a 53-yard walk-off against Northwestern in 2023 and another 53-yarder to beat Nebraska in 2024.
2025 season recap
In his senior season at Iowa, Stevens made 22 of 28 field goals (78.6%) and 41 of 42 extra points, closing out his career as the program's all-time leader in field goals made. He capped the pre-draft process by going 1-for-1 with a 51-yard field goal at the 2026 Senior Bowl and earning one of the rare combine invites extended to kickers that year.
