Easton Stick built his reputation as one of the most decorated quarterbacks in FCS history before settling into a journeyman backup role in the NFL. Path to the league

Stick went 49-3 as a starter at North Dakota State, finishing as the program's all-time leader in passing yards (8,693) and touchdowns (88) while leading the Bison to back-to-back FCS national championships in 2017 and 2018. He earned AP first-team All-America honors as a senior before the Los Angeles Chargers selected him in the fifth round, 166th overall, of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

Stick spent six seasons with the Chargers, largely as Justin Herbert's backup, appearing in six games with four starts across 2019-2024. His most extended action came late in the 2023 season, when Herbert broke his throwing hand and Stick started four games down the stretch. Over his Chargers tenure he completed 112 of 175 passes for 1,133 yards and three touchdowns.

2025 season recap

Stick signed with the Atlanta Falcons in free agency in 2025 but was released before the season and re-signed to the practice squad, where he spent most of the year. He was elevated for two games late in the season as insurance behind Michael Penix and Kirk Cousins, seeing no meaningful regular-season snaps.
