Elijah Arroyo is a 6-foot-5 tight end who flashed real receiving upside at Miami before durability questions pushed him to Day 2 of the 2025 draft. Seattle grabbed him at 50th overall hoping his combination of size and route-running speed can develop into a difference-making complement in the passing game.

Path to the league

Arroyo played in just 11 games between the 2022 and 2023 seasons at Miami due to injuries, but he stayed healthy for all 13 games in 2024 and turned that availability into a second-team All-ACC season. He caught 35 passes for 590 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior, averaging 16.9 yards per catch, and the Seahawks selected him with the 50th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

At 254 pounds, Arroyo's combination of size and vertical speed made him one of the more explosive tight end prospects in his draft class, even as durability concerns kept him out of the first round. His 2024 season at Miami, with seven touchdown catches and a strong yards-per-reception average, was the clearest evidence of his upside as a mismatch target.

2025 season recap

As a rookie, Arroyo caught 15 passes for 179 yards and a touchdown for Seattle, working in behind veteran tight ends as he adjusted to the pro game. It was a limited but healthy debut season that gave the Seahawks a look at his pass-catching tools without a major role yet.
