A former Miami fourth-round pick who spent 2025 grinding through the UFL before landing a fresh shot with the Eagles.

Erik Ezukanma has bounced around the league since Miami drafted him out of Texas Tech, never quite breaking through despite a big-play college resume. Philadelphia signed him in June 2026 after he rebuilt his stock with the DC Defenders, giving the 6-foot-2 receiver another chance to stick on an NFL roster.

Path to the league

Ezukanma starred at Texas Tech from 2018 to 2021, closing his career as the program's leading receiver for three straight seasons, the first Red Raider to do that since the 1980s. He earned first-team All-Big 12 honors in 2020 and second-team recognition in 2021 before the Miami Dolphins took him in the fourth round, 125th overall, in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

At Texas Tech, Ezukanma piled up 138 catches for 2,165 yards and 15 touchdowns, including a 183-yard, two-touchdown outburst against Oklahoma State in 2020. His NFL production has been minimal by comparison, just one catch for three yards across three seasons in Miami, with a non-football injury designation cutting short his 2023 campaign.

2025 season recap

Ezukanma was released by Miami in late August 2025, caught on briefly with Jacksonville's practice squad, and was let go again in October. He didn't appear in a regular-season NFL game in 2025, instead resurfacing in February 2026 with the DC Defenders of the UFL before Philadelphia signed him that June.
