Harrison Phillips has been one of the more dependable run-stuffers in the league since entering the NFL out of Stanford in 2018. After a depth role in Buffalo, he blossomed into a full-time starter during three seasons in Minnesota, appearing in every game along the way. A trade brought him back east in 2025, continuing his run of near-perfect attendance on NFL defensive lines.
Path to the league
Phillips led all FBS linemen with 103 tackles at Stanford in 2017, earning All-Pac-12 First Team honors as well as Pac-12 All-Academic First Team recognition. He left school early and was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the third round (96th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Career highlights
Phillips played a depth role in Buffalo for three seasons before signing a three-year, $19.5 million contract with the Minnesota Vikings in March 2022. He started all 51 regular-season games for Minnesota from 2022 to 2024, setting career highs with 92 tackles and 3 sacks in 2023. He was traded to the New York Jets in August 2025.
2025 season recap
In his first season with the Jets, Phillips appeared in all 17 games for a remarkable fourth consecutive year, recording 60 tackles, 0.5 sacks, and two passes defensed, reaching the 60-tackle mark for just the second time in his eight-year career.
