Payton Page arrived at Clemson as a top-40 national recruit and spent four years working behind a deep, NFL-caliber defensive tackle rotation before finally breaking through as a starter in 2024. Now with the New York Jets, he is using his size and quickness to carve out a role on the interior defensive line.
Path to the league
Page was a four-star recruit and the 31st overall prospect in the 2021 class, choosing Clemson over North Carolina and Tennessee. He went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft and signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent shortly after.
Career highlights
Over four seasons at Clemson (2021-2024), Page appeared in 53 games but did not become a full-time starter until his senior year, when he earned third-team All-ACC honors after recording 69 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and a 57-yard pick-six against The Citadel. At the NFL Combine, he ran a 5.13-second 40-yard dash and posted a 33-inch vertical jump.
2025 season recap
Page was cut from the Jets' roster on August 26, 2025, but re-signed to the practice squad and was promoted to the active roster on December 18. In four games of action that followed, he recorded 6 tackles as a rookie defensive tackle.
