Hayden Conner started 43 games across four seasons at Texas, developing into one of the most reliable guards in the country before Arizona drafted him in the sixth round. An injured-reserve stint delayed his rookie debut, but he got onto the field late in the 2025 season.
Path to the league
A four-star recruit out of James E. Taylor High School in Katy, Texas, Conner appeared in eight games as a freshman before becoming a full-time starter at left guard for Texas in 2022 and 2023. Arizona selected him in the sixth round (211th overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft, a pick acquired via trade with Dallas.
Career highlights
Conner's senior season at Texas in 2024 stood out: he was named to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team and was a Wuerffel Trophy semifinalist for his charitable work with Austin-area animal shelters, while also earning Joe Moore Award finalist recognition as one of the nation's top offensive linemen. According to Pro Football Focus, he did not allow a sack on more than 440 pass-blocking snaps in 2024, and he even filled in at center during the College Football Playoff.
2025 season recap
Conner opened his rookie season on injured reserve in August 2025 before being activated ahead of Week 13. He made his NFL debut against Tampa Bay, playing four snaps on special teams as he began working his way into Arizona's offensive line rotation.
