Path to the league
A five-star recruit out of Pace Academy in Atlanta, Salyer played four seasons at Georgia and helped the Bulldogs win the 2021 national championship, earning second-team All-American and second-team All-SEC honors that year. The Chargers drafted him in the sixth round, No. 195 overall, in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Career highlights
Salyer stepped into the Chargers' starting lineup as a rookie after an injury to Rashawn Slater in Week 4 of 2022 and never relinquished the job for long, starting all 17 games in 2023.
