Ian Thomas is a Las Vegas Raiders tight end out of Indiana who works mainly as a blocker and depth receiver.
Thomas spent his first seven NFL seasons with the Carolina Panthers after they drafted him in 2018. He joined the Raiders in 2025 and started 10 games. He re-signed with Las Vegas on a one-year deal in April 2026.
Path to the league
Thomas earned All-Big Ten honorable mention as a senior at Indiana in 2017, with five touchdowns and a 15.0-yard average per reception. The Carolina Panthers drafted him in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He spent seven seasons in Carolina before reaching free agency.
2025 season
Las Vegas signed Thomas as an unrestricted free agent on March 25, 2025. He appeared in 15 games with 10 starts and caught 13 passes for 114 yards, per the Raiders' player page. He re-signed with the team on a one-year deal on April 8, 2026.
