Jack Bech carries a football family legacy into his NFL career, and he carried real heartbreak through his final college season and into the 2025 draft process. A second-round pick of the Raiders, his rookie year was modest statistically as Las Vegas leaned on other pass catchers, leaving him looking to establish himself in year two.

Path to the league

Bech was a four-star recruit out of Lafayette, Louisiana who started his college career at LSU in 2021 and 2022, catching 59 passes for 689 yards before transferring to TCU. He broke out as a senior in 2024 with 62 receptions for 1,034 yards and nine touchdowns, becoming just the fifth player in TCU history to reach 1,000 receiving yards in a season and earning second-team All-Big 12 honors. The Raiders selected him with the 58th overall pick in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

Bech capped his college career by earning MVP honors at the 2025 Senior Bowl, hauling in a game-winning touchdown on the final play. His uncle, Brett Bech, played in the NFL for the Saints in the late 1990s, and Jack presented the ceremonial coin toss alongside him before Super Bowl LIX. That appearance came in the wake of his older brother Tiger Bech's death in the New Orleans truck attack on New Year's Day 2025.

2025 season recap

Bech's rookie season was a quiet one on the stat sheet, as he finished with 20 receptions for 224 yards and no touchdowns across 16 games. Las Vegas leaned on tight end Brock Bowers and receiver Tre Tucker as the focal points of the passing game, limiting Bech's opportunities in year one.
