Ja'Markis Weston

Linebacker · Florida

A physical freak out of Florida who bounced between four positions in college before making his NFL debut and eventually landing in Seattle.

Ja'Markis Weston is a linebacker whose path to the pros wound through wide receiver, safety, linebacker and defensive end during his years with the Florida Gators. Undrafted in 2025, he made his NFL debut with the New York Jets before being waived and picked up by Seattle, where he now looks to carve out a role.

★ Super Bowl LX champion (Seattle practice squad)

★ Elite combine-caliber testing numbers, including a sub-4.4 40-yard dash

Path to the league

Weston attended Clewiston High School in Florida, making varsity as a freshman and drawing attention for elite strength numbers, including a 330-pound bench press and 500-pound squat while still in high school. He played for the Florida Gators from 2019 to 2024, shifting through multiple positions without ever locking down a permanent starting role, and went undrafted in 2025.

Career highlights

Weston's college production was modest given his constant position changes, topping out with nine tackles, a sack and a forced fumble as a senior in 2024. What stood out most were his testing numbers: a 525-pound bench press, 605-pound squat and a sub-4.4 40-yard dash, marks that kept his NFL prospects alive despite a light stat sheet.

2025 season recap

Weston signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent but opened the year on injured reserve, not debuting until Week 7 against the Carolina Panthers, where he recorded one tackle. The Jets waived him in late November, and he signed with Seattle's practice squad in December before agreeing to a reserve/futures contract with the Seahawks in February 2026.
