An All-American center who played for three different blue-blood programs before going undrafted and landing with the Falcons.
James Brockermeyer signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent after a college career that took him from Alabama to TCU to Miami. The son of former NFL tackle Blake Brockermeyer and twin brother of five-star recruit Tommy Brockermeyer, he anchored one of the best offensive lines in the country in 2025 and quickly became one of the more talked-about names in an undrafted class.
Path to the league
Born June 24, 2002, in Fort Worth, Texas, Brockermeyer was a four-star recruit out of All Saints Episcopal School who originally committed to Alabama, where he appeared in 16 games from 2021 to 2023. He transferred to TCU in 2024 and started all 12 games at center, then transferred again to Miami for a final 2025 season. He went unpicked in the 2026 NFL Draft but signed with the Falcons immediately after.
Career highlights
At Miami in 2025, Brockermeyer started all 16 games at center, logging more than 1,000 offensive snaps while allowing no sacks. He earned first-team All-American and third-team All-ACC honors as Miami won 13 games and reached the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.
2025 season recap
Brockermeyer was a fixture up front for a Miami team that ran off a 13-game winning streak through the playoffs before falling to Indiana 27-21 in the national title game. He did not allow a sack across his snaps that season, a big reason the Falcons pursued him as a priority undrafted free agent despite his lack of a combine invite.
