A former Florida State transfer who broke out at Louisville, Jarvis Brownlee Jr. ranked among the league's top rookie tacklers before joining the Jets.

Jarvis Brownlee Jr. built his reputation as a physical, run-supporting corner at Louisville and carried that identity into a productive rookie season in Tennessee before a September 2025 trade brought him to New York. His hard-hitting style has made him a fit in the Jets' secondary, though a late-season hip injury interrupted his first year with the team.

Path to the league

Brownlee began his college career at Florida State, where he had a standout 2021 season that included a 70-yard interception return for a touchdown against UMass. He transferred to Louisville in 2022, where he started all 13 games in 2023 with career highs of 66 tackles and 12 pass breakups. The Tennessee Titans drafted him in the fifth round (146th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

As a rookie in Tennessee, Brownlee started 14 of 17 games and finished with 75 tackles, nine pass deflections and an interception, ranking third among all rookie cornerbacks in total tackles. His run-defense grade and physical style of play stood out early in his career, and the Titans traded him to the Jets in September 2025.

2025 season recap

Brownlee logged 92 total tackles, 9 tackles for loss and 10 pass deflections on the year, ranking 12th among cornerbacks in run stops with an 11 run-stop total and a 77.8 run-defense grade. He was placed on injured reserve in December 2025 with a hip injury.
