Jaylen Harrell came out of Michigan with a resume full of hardware, capped by a College Football Playoff national championship, but landed in the NFL as a seventh-round afterthought. Two years into his Titans career, he has steadily carved out a bigger role off the edge, jumping from special teams depth to a legitimate pass-rush contributor.

Path to the league

Harrell played four seasons at Michigan from 2020 to 2023, developing into a full-time starter at edge rusher by his senior year. The Titans selected him in the seventh round (252nd overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

Harrell's college career ended with three straight Big Ten championships (2021-23) and a College Football Playoff national title in 2023, the season he posted a team-high 6.5 sacks and nine tackles for loss as a full-time starter. He finished his Michigan career with 78 tackles, 19 tackles for loss and eight sacks.

2025 season recap

Harrell built on a rookie season spent mostly on special teams by taking a bigger role in the Titans' pass rush in 2025, recording 4.5 sacks, five tackles for loss and a forced fumble to go with 25 combined tackles across 17 games.
