Jeremy Reaves has spent his entire eight-year career carving out a role for the Commanders after going unpicked in the 2018 draft. Known first as a core special-teams player, he has grown into a dependable defensive contributor and a locker-room fixture in Washington.
Path to the league
Reaves starred at South Alabama, where he was named the 2017 Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year after totaling 301 tackles, eight interceptions and eight forced fumbles over his college career. He signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2018, was cut, and quickly found a home with Washington that same year.

Reaves has built his reputation as one of the league's premier special-teams players while also earning meaningful defensive snaps at safety. He is a one-time Pro Bowl selection and one-time First-team All-Pro, and was Washington's 2024 Ed Block Courage Award recipient. He has appeared in 81 career games.
