Joe Giles-Harris was one of the most decorated linebackers in Duke history before going undrafted in 2019. He has since bounced through four organizations, grinding out a career built on special teams value and depth tackling, and now contributes for the Bengals.
Path to the league
Giles-Harris starred at Duke from 2015 to 2018, finishing with 313 career tackles, 9.5 sacks and two interceptions. He earned first-team All-ACC honors in both 2017 and 2018 and was a second-team All-American as a junior, becoming the first Duke linebacker with multiple first-team all-conference selections in decades. He went undrafted in 2019 and signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Career highlights
Giles-Harris has played for the Jaguars, Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots and Cincinnati Bengals across stints on both active rosters and practice squads since 2019. He recorded his first career NFL sack against Ryan Tannehill in December 2020 while with Jacksonville.
2025 season recap
After returning to Cincinnati in April 2025, Giles-Harris became an active roster contributor for the Bengals, recording 27 combined tackles and two pass deflections across 10 appearances. He signed a one-year contract extension with the team in January 2026.
