A former Duke and NC State workhorse who fought back from a UDFA release through the UFL to earn a spot back with the Rams.
Jordan Waters is a running back who split his college career between Duke and NC State before signing with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2025. After being waived that August, he took the long road back through the UFL's St. Louis Battlehawks before re-signing with Los Angeles, now wearing No. 32.
Path to the league
A Fairmont, North Carolina native, Waters spent five seasons at Duke from 2019 to 2023 before transferring to NC State for his final college season in 2024. He went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft and signed with the Rams as a free agent.
Career highlights
Waters' best college production came in 2023 at Duke, when he rushed for 819 yards and 12 touchdowns on 153 carries and added 139 receiving yards, earning third-team All-ACC honors. He closed out his career at NC State in 2024 with 470 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 95 carries.
2025 season recap
Waters was waived by the Rams on August 26, 2025, after training camp, but he did not stay out of football long. The St. Louis Battlehawks of the UFL selected him on January 14, 2026, and he parlayed that run back into a reserve/futures contract with the Rams on February 5, 2026.
