A former Super Bowl champion edge rusher who has turned into one of the league's most disruptive pass rushers with Arizona.

Josh Sweat spent seven seasons rising through the ranks in Philadelphia before signing with the Cardinals, and he wasted no time becoming a focal point of Arizona's defensive front. Known for his get-off and ability to strip the ball, Sweat has developed from a situational pass rusher into a full-time difference maker.

Path to the league

Sweat starred at Florida State from 2015 to 2017, racking up 138 tackles, 30 tackles for loss and 14.5 sacks over three seasons with the Seminoles. The Eagles drafted him in the fourth round (130th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

Sweat earned his first Pro Bowl selection in 2021 after posting 7.5 sacks, and he set career highs across the board in 2022 with 11.0 sacks, 15 tackles for loss and 48 tackles. He was part of the Eagles' Super Bowl LIX championship team, recording a career-high 2.5 sacks in the win over Kansas City before signing with Arizona in March 2025.

2025 season recap

In his first season with the Cardinals, Sweat started all 17 games and broke out with 12.0 sacks, 13 tackles for loss and 17 quarterback hits. His four forced fumbles tied for the NFL lead, and he was named a Pro Bowl alternate for his efforts.
