Josiah Green joins Tampa Bay's defensive tackle room as an undrafted rookie after an unusual college path: four years in the Ivy League at Dartmouth, capped by a graduate transfer season at Duke that helped the Blue Devils win their first outright ACC championship since 1962. At 6-foot-1 and 285 pounds, Green built his reputation on quickness and disruption rather than size.
Path to the league
Green, a product of Indianapolis, Indiana, spent four years at Dartmouth from 2021 to 2024, earning a unanimous All-Ivy selection in 2024 and a second-team nod in 2023 while graduating with a degree in anthropology in December 2024. He entered the transfer portal and committed to Duke, where he played his final season of eligibility in 2025 before signing with Tampa Bay as an undrafted free agent.
Career highlights
Over 44 career games and 34 starts between Dartmouth and Duke, Green totaled 157 tackles, 27 tackles for loss and 8 sacks. His lone season at Duke helped the Blue Devils capture their first outright ACC title in over six decades and the 2025 Sun Bowl.
2025 season recap
In his only season at Duke, Green started all 14 games and finished with 37 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, three pass breakups and two quarterback pressures. The production drew enough interest from Tampa Bay that the team considered drafting him on day three before ultimately signing him as an undrafted free agent.
