A former Boston College captain who fought through practice-squad shuffles to land on the Chiefs' roster.
Kam Arnold is a linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs who took the long road to the NFL, going undrafted out of Boston College before working his way onto Kansas City's roster. He is entering his first full season with the Chiefs after a whirlwind path through two different practice squads.
Path to the league
Arnold starred at Orchard Lake St. Mary's in Michigan as a cornerback and wide receiver before converting to linebacker at Boston College, where he played five seasons from 2020 to 2024. He went undrafted in 2025 and signed with the Washington Commanders as a free agent.
Career highlights
At Boston College, Arnold developed into a full-time starter, posting 75 tackles as a junior in 2022 and 66 as a senior in 2023. He served as a team captain in his final season in 2024, a year cut short by a season-ending injury in October, and still finished sixth on the team in tackles.
2025 season recap
After being let go by Washington, Arnold signed with the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad in late December 2025 and later inked a reserve/future contract. He did not see regular-season game action in 2025 as he worked to establish himself on the roster.
