An undrafted burner out of East Carolina who broke a Ravens rookie record before working his way back from a torn ACL.

Keaton Mitchell built his name at East Carolina as one of the American Athletic Conference's premier rushers, then turned an undrafted free agent shot with Baltimore into a breakout rookie stretch. A serious knee injury slowed his rise, but his big-play speed remains his calling card.

Path to the league

Mitchell closed his East Carolina career with 3,607 rushing yards, third all-time in program history, capped by a 1,452-yard, 14-touchdown senior season in 2022. He earned First-team All-AAC honors twice, in 2021 and 2022, and set the school record with nine 100-yard rushing games in his final year. Despite that production, he went undrafted in 2023 and signed with the Baltimore Ravens.

Career highlights

Mitchell announced himself in just his third career game, rushing for 138 yards, the highest single-game total by an undrafted rookie in Ravens history. Over his time in Baltimore he totaled 767 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 121 carries across 26 games, adding 184 receiving yards, before a torn ACL interrupted his momentum.

2025 season recap

Working back from the torn ACL, Mitchell dealt with a hamstring issue in the preseason and then a knee injury in Week 14 against the Steelers that cut short a game in which he had just broken off a 55-yard run. He still finished the season with 341 yards and a touchdown on 59 carries, averaging 5.8 yards per attempt, plus nine catches for 63 yards.
