2016 Defensive Player of the Year still racking up sacks in his 12th NFL season.

Khalil Mack signed a one-year extension with the Chargers in March 2026 to keep playing at age 35. The 2025 season produced 12 sacks and a Pro Bowl, his ninth career selection. He remains the Chargers' defensive cornerstone alongside Joey Bosa (who was released in 2025).

Path to the league

Buffalo MAC product taken fifth overall by Oakland in 2014. Won Defensive Player of the Year in 2016 (15 sacks, 11 TFLs). Traded to the Bears in 2018 in a deal that became one of the most consequential of the decade. Signed with the Chargers in 2022.
