An American Samoan offensive lineman who went from junior college to the XFL/UFL's All-League team before signing one of the largest contracts in that league's history en route to the Jets.

Kohl Levao is a massive interior offensive lineman for the Jets, listed at 6-foot-6 and 350 pounds, whose path ran from junior college football in San Francisco to the University of Hawaii and then through the XFL and UFL with the San Antonio Brahmas. Born in Pago Pago, American Samoa, Levao's persistence through alternative leagues eventually earned him an NFL contract in New York.

Path to the league

Levao played junior college football at City College of San Francisco in 2016 and 2017 before transferring to Hawaii, where he started 28 of 31 games from 2018 to 2021. He went undrafted in 2022 and began his pro career with the Frisco Fighters of the Indoor Football League before the San Antonio Brahmas selected him in the XFL draft that November.

Career highlights

Levao became a fixture on San Antonio's offensive line, starting all 12 games in 2024 and earning All-UFL team honors. That production helped him sign with the New York Jets on June 19, 2024, on a three-year deal worth up to $2.8 million.

2025 season recap

Levao signed a reserve/future contract with the Jets in January 2025 and continued working to crack New York's offensive line rotation. He was promoted to the Jets' active roster on January 3, 2026, wearing No. 60 as a guard.
