Landon Young

Offensive Tackle · Kentucky

A former five-star Kentucky tackle and sixth-round pick who spent five seasons battling injuries with the Saints before landing with the Jets.

Landon Young was a five-star recruit who started for four seasons at left tackle for Kentucky before New Orleans drafted him in 2021. Injuries limited his playing time across five seasons with the Saints, and he signed with the Jets in May 2026 looking for a fresh chance at offensive line depth.

Path to the league

Young was rated a five-star recruit out of Lafayette High School in Lexington, Kentucky, and started three games as a true freshman in 2016 before missing all of 2018 with injury. He returned to start 24 consecutive games at left tackle over his final two seasons and earned first-team All-SEC honors in 2020. The New Orleans Saints selected him in the sixth round, 206th overall, of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

Young spent five seasons with the Saints from 2021 through 2025, appearing in 56 career games but making just 12 starts as he battled injuries, including an ankle injury that required surgery and ended one of his seasons early on injured reserve. He re-signed with New Orleans on a one-year deal in March 2025 before hitting free agency again.

2025 season recap

Young's 2025 season with the Saints was again limited by his injury history, continuing a pattern that has capped him at 12 career starts through five NFL seasons. He signed with the Jets in May 2026, joining the offensive tackle competition as a depth piece with starting experience when healthy.
